Using Glydo

What is Glydo?

Glydo is a browser add-on that helps you discover new, interesting content on the web.

As your browse the web, Glydo understands what it is you are interested in right now, and suggests related content for you to view - news, videos, tweets from twitter, information, web pages, and more.

You'll see the suggestions Glydo has to offer in a ticker on the bottom of your browser. Occassionally, when Glydo has a great suggestion for you, it will also show you a notification. You can also browse through suggestions in more detail, click a suggestion to view it in full, and share them with your friends.

 

I installed Glydo - what now?

After you've installed Glydo and restarted your browser, you should be able to see Glydo in the bottom bar (the "status bar") of your browser. The small "glyder" icon indicates that Glydo is installed and active.

Exactly what you will see depends on what Glydo has to suggest - Glydo may have different types of suggestions for different pages. When you browse to a page where Glydo has suggestions, your statusbar will look something like this:

 

 

What do all those buttons mean?

The buttons on the status bar (the bottom bar of your browser) allow you to browse through suggestions and interact with them. Use the following buttons to browse detailed recommendations by categories:

Related Stories
News and articles related to the page you are viewing

Tweets
Relevant tweets and users to follow on twitter
Videos
Cool and related video clips
Information
from Wikipedia, IMDb, last.fm and more
Web Pages
More content from pages all over the Web
Top Headlines
The hottest news right as it occurs (not necessarily related to what you are viewing)

The and buttons allow you to scroll forward and backward between headlines in the ticker.

The button lets you share the page you are currently viewing with your friends through twitter, facebook, MySpace and other services.

Finally, the button lets you access Glydo's main menu, through which you can access other functions and settings.

Glydo detects which products you are shopping for so it can present you with cheaper offers and user reviews. At this time, Glydo is able to detect products you are browsing on the following sites:
