Glydo will be shut down on April 16th, 2011

When we started developing Glydo in 2008 we had a vision of a novel way to discover and consume Internet content. We felt that most content discovery methods either required too much effort, provided too much irrelevant content, or missed really interesting content you would never know about. We set out to create a service that actually understands what users are interested in and finds the most relevant content for them, with zero effort, and at the right time.

A few months later we launched Glydo - a context-relevant content recommendations service. We were very happy with our creation, even though we knew it is just the first step towards a truly natural, effortless and useful content discovery experience. We were excited to see you, our users, enjoying the service, and found your feedback extremely helpful in improving the it.

Nevertheless, in April 2010 we decided to stop developing new features and algorithms for Glydo. This decision was a result of several factors, including lack of funding. Since we had an enthusiastic group of users, and because we liked the service ourselves, we decided to keep the service running.

However, we can no longer justify the costs of maintaining the service and porting Glydo to the recently released Firefox 4. Glydo will therefore be shut down on April 16th, 2011. If you are a Glydo user we suggest you uninstall the add on through the Firefox Add On Manager.

We still deeply believe in the vision behind Glydo. We're convinced that content discovery on the Internet should be context-driven, personalized, and effortless. We're also convinced that this will indeed happen, and are excited to see the upcoming innovations in this field.
